Pixel Lineage: How to Get, Hatch and Level Pets
Find adventure eggs, hatch them at the Ranch, equip a companion, and develop it through won battles or feeding spare gear and materials.
Get Pixel Lineage pets by finding eggs during adventures and hatching them at the Ranch outside the castle wall. Equip the companion to earn XP from won battles, or feed spare gear and materials at the Ranch to develop it further.
This gameplay video shows the interface and turn-based rhythm that the following choices use.
Look for eggs while completing adventures
Adventure fights, elites, bosses and treasure can supply eggs. Build the egg hunt into routes your hero can finish rather than risking lives for an assumed guaranteed drop. Different reward opportunities exist, but an egg source is not an exact probability or a promise that the next fight gives one.
An egg has a family and rarity. Those properties matter before the hatch because they determine the companion pool and ability access. Keep them in mind when deciding whether the egg fits your current hero or a later fusion plan.
Hatch at the Ranch outside the wall
Bring the egg to the Ranch. Hatching selects a random pet from the egg's family and rolls three family abilities. Rarity controls how many of those abilities are unlocked, so a visible future ability and a usable current ability are not the same thing.
| Stage | What changes |
|---|---|
| Adventure reward | Obtain an egg with family and rarity |
| Ranch hatch | Receive a random family pet and rolled abilities |
| Equip on the hero | The companion participates in battle |
| Win or feed | The pet gains development toward its rarity cap |
Equip before expecting battle progress
Each hero equips one pet. Won battles provide XP while it is equipped. Merely owning a companion in storage does not mean that it is the one helping the current hero or gaining the equipped-battle XP.
The pet is invulnerable and bites the current target each round. It gains a charge each round; at three charges, an ability or a double-damage pounce becomes available. That gives the new companion a role before you reach the highest rarities.
Feed spare resources with a purpose
Use spare gear and materials at the Ranch when the companion is worth developing. Keep resources for equipment or recipes you still need before treating everything in storage as spare. A feeding choice and a forging choice can compete for the same broader progression budget.
If the family fits your plan, further development can make sense. If you intend to fuse, keep matching family-and-rarity companions rather than discarding them solely because their appearance differs. Fusion follows its own matching rule, separate from battle leveling.
