Pixel Lineage: Lineage Ranks and Permanent Stat Growth
Understand permanent Lineage stat bonuses, what survives hero death, and how Torment’s Valor rewards support bloodline progression.
Pixel Lineage ranks are permanent bloodline upgrades that improve HP, Attack, Magic and Defense everywhere in the game. Each rank provides an approximately 4.66% increase to those stats, and the ranks survive permanent hero death, making them different from an individual hero's level or equipment.
This gameplay video shows the interface and turn-based rhythm that the following choices use.
Permanent progression versus one hero's build
A hero can lose lives and eventually be lost, but Lineage ranks persist. That permanence changes the value of a successful endgame session: rewards can strengthen the bloodline rather than only adding another piece to the current loadout.
The stat effect applies across the game. It is not restricted to Torment simply because that mode supplies the currency. Keep the approximate per-rank figure separate from an exact compound-growth formula; use the rank display for the actual upgrade you are considering.
| Progression | Main benefit | Persists after permanent hero death |
|---|---|---|
| Hero level and current build | Develop the hero you are playing | Lineage rank persistence is the separate permanent system |
| Lineage ranks | Improve HP, Attack, Magic and Defense | Yes |
Valor connects the system to Torment
Valor comes from Torment. Ordinary wins within the mode provide small amounts, while the Torment Chest supplies most of it. The first daily chest multiplies Valor by 1.5, so a finished run has a different value from a route that ends before the final payout.
This gives a concrete endgame objective: reach the chest consistently, then convert rewards into permanent progress. Pushing a tier you cannot finish can delay the payout that strengthens future attempts.
Keep the current hero strong enough to earn the upgrade
Permanent investment is valuable, but the current hero still has to survive the run. Balance that long-term goal with the equipment and recovery needs that make a clear practical. Saving every resource for later does not help if the hero cannot reach the chest that provides Valor.
Think of the systems as supporting each other. A workable hero earns rewards; permanent ranks then make the bloodline stronger. You do not need to choose one forever, but you should recognize which improvement solves the immediate obstacle and which remains after this hero is gone.
