Pixel Lineage: How to Unlock Torment and Reach the Chest
Meet Torment’s level-50 and completed-story requirements, understand the three-land route, and plan your first daily chest clear.
Unlock Pixel Lineage Torment by reaching hero level 50 and completing the story. Both requirements matter: level alone does not replace story completion, and finishing the story on an underleveled hero does not satisfy the level gate.
The Torment gameplay clip shows the endgame mode you are preparing to enter after meeting both requirements.
Finish both progression requirements
Continue the story while developing the hero to level 50. Treat those as two separate checkpoints instead of assuming one automatically completes the other. When planning the last stretch, keep the hero's survival tools useful so progress does not turn into repeated lost lives.
Torment is an endgame mode, so access is the beginning of a harder progression loop rather than proof that the first run will be easy. The daily gauntlet changes the challenge beyond ordinary story fights.
| Checkpoint | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Level 50 hero | Meets the hero-level requirement |
| Completed story | Meets the separate story requirement |
| A survival and resource plan | Helps carry the hero through three lands |
| Read daily modifiers | Explains that day’s additional pressure and benefits |
Know what the unlocked mode asks you to finish
The run contains three lands, with four floors before each land's boss. The third boss leads to the Torment Chest. The daily gauntlet is shared across players, and its afflictions and boons can change recovery needs or enemy pressure.
Clearing a tier unlocks the next. Tiers span I through XCIX, and foes become 20% tougher per tier. Begin by learning the accessible run rather than assuming that unlocking the mode also prepares the hero for every tier.
Make the first chest the next concrete goal
The final chest provides gold, most of the run's Valor, and a guaranteed Legendary or Epic TORMENTED piece. The first daily chest pays 1.5× Valor. That makes reaching it a useful objective even before you push far up the tier ladder.
Use the permanent-progression opportunity as part of your plan. Gear helps the current hero, while Valor supports Lineage ranks that survive permanent hero death. The mode unlock therefore opens both an equipment goal and a longer-lived bloodline goal.
Prepare before increasing the tier
After meeting the gate, read the day’s conditions and keep a build that can finish the entire route. A higher unlocked tier offers another challenge, not an obligation to risk the hero immediately. Consistent chest clears give you a practical base for later increases.
